I completed the Ph.D. program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. My dissertation research focused on evolution and conservation genetics of Colorado’s beautiful state fish, the greenback cutthroat trout. This fish, which is recognized as “Threatened” on the Endangered Species List, has both an interesting evolutionary history and contemporary history. I continue to work on cutthroat trout genetics at CU with my Ph.D. advisor, Andy Martin. I am currently working on sequencing DNA from 100 - 150 year old cutthroat trout tissue samples from the California Academy of Sciences, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and the Philadelphia Museum of Natural History. I am also enjoying the summer in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and searching for a postdoctoral position abroad.
